How It Began

I first met Torsten, the founder of Wisali, through Kuhustle.com, a platform that connects freelancers with clients in Kenya. Torsten introduced me to Wisali, a platform similar to Booking.com, designed to cater to both travelers and hotel owners. His vision was simple yet impactful: leverage video to educate and inform website visitors about Wisali’s offerings, making the platform more accessible and engaging for all users.

The Challenge

Wisali faced a common challenge in the digital space—modern audiences prefer watching videos over reading text. Torsten needed videos that would:
  • Speak directly to both travelers and hotel owners, showcasing how Wisali could benefit them.
  • Clearly explain how to use the platform in an engaging, easy-to-understand way.
  • Maintain consistent branding across the videos and the website to reinforce Wisali’s identity.

The Solution

Working closely with Torsten, we developed three distinct videos:

  1. Traveler Video: Focused on how Wisali simplifies travel planning and booking for users.
  2. Hotel Owner Video: Explained how Wisali helps hotel owners grow their businesses by connecting them with travelers.
  3. Explainer Video: A step-by-step guide that demonstrated how users could effectively navigate the Wisali platform.

The process involved:

  • Collaborating on multiple script drafts to ensure the messaging was accurate and concise.
  • Designing visuals and animations that aligned with Wisali’s branding to create a seamless user experience.
  • Translating the videos into three additional languages to expand Wisali’s reach and appeal to a broader audience. (This was an added effort, done without extra charge, highlighting the supportive partnership we built with Torsten.)

The Results

  • Enhanced User Experience: The videos provided an engaging, clear introduction to Wisali’s offerings, simplifying the user journey.
  • Stronger Brand Identity: Consistent branding across both the website and videos reinforced Wisali’s professional and approachable image.
